What about surfing? Surfing in MALTA that is. So many people come to the store and they cannot believe that there is actually a surf store on the island, And a well equipped one! You can surf here and the ideal place is a beach in the north west called Riviera Martinique (next to Golden Bay). In fact we get some very good 6 to 8 foot swells when we have a Mistral wind blowing at around force 4 to 6 which is quite frequent. This usually lasts around 3 to 4 days. The bay is ideal for bodyboarding and you can have hours of fun in a really unspoiled beautiful bay. The currents can be a bit hazardous but once you get used to them the water is quite safe. The best time to go here is when the wind starts to die down as the currents are much weaker, normally on the second day.
Again, we carry a good stock of surfboards at our shop in Sliema, and we also do loads of body boards and fins for all ages and wallets. Our surfboards range from BIC boards for the beginners and we also stock NEV, ZAK, and MC hand shaped boards. Sex wax, lashes, repair kits, boardbags, roof racks,etc. are always in stock.
